Boonton Township (07005) is located in Morris County, NJ. The community has a total area of 8.6 square miles and has approximately 1,800 housing units. Boonton Township borders Boonton Town and is less densely populated. The community is set among the rolling hills and fields of the Rockaway Valley and has lots of natural character and rural charm. Many of the homes have 1+ acre property lots with beautiful wooded or rolling green views. Residents attend Mountain Lakes High School, which has an excellent reputation. Boonton Township is one of the more affluent towns in Morris County and is known for its luxury homes and large estates. Oak Hills, and several other neighborhoods close to Denville, offer smaller property sizes and more affordable housing options for home buyers looking to enter the community. Commute

Boonton Township has easy access to Interstate 287 and 80. The community is just minutes away from the Boonton Town Train Station on the NJ Transit Montclair-Boonton Line which offers service to Hoboken Terminal. Passengers can transfer to another train or bus before Hoboken for a Midtown Manhattan commute. At Hoboken Terminal, passengers can switch to the PATH to reach NYC. Lakeland Bus provides service from Boonton Town to NY Port Authority in Midtown. During rush hour, the bus ride takes about 55 minutes.

Schools

For grades K-8, students attend Rockaway Valley School. For grades 9-12, students attend Mountain Lakes High School in Mountain Lakes Borough.

Recreation

There are some great hiking trails and recreational facilities located in and close by Boonton Township, which include the Tourne, Pyramid Mountain, Split Rock Reservoir, Wild Cat Ridge and Turkey Mountain. Township parks include Leonard Park, Griffith Park, Tumble-in Park, and Forest Park.
