Pequannock Township is located in eastern Morris County, NJ. The community has a total area of 7.2 square miles and has approximately 5,100 housing units. The community is mostly residential and has a mixture of homes from various time periods. The Township has two major sections: Pequannock (07440) and Pompton Plains (07444). During the early 1990s a development known as "The Glens" was constructed adding 583 townhomes, coach homes, and condominium apartments to the community. The Pompton River has a history of overflowing with heavy rains and a number of homes and neighborhoods along the river are located in a flood zone. Other housing developments and neighborhoods include North End, Greenview, and Burnham Village. The Martin Berry House is located in Pompton Plains in Pequannock Township. The house was built in 1720 by the son of one of the first settlers to the Pompton River region. The Pre-Revolutionary War Dutch Colonial Home has been little altered since its construction.

Commute

Pequannock is easily accessible by NJ Route 23 and Interstate 287. New Jersey Transit provides bus service from Pequannock to NY Port Authority Terminal in Midtown Manhattan NYC. During rush hour, the bus ride takes about 55 minutes. The train station in Lincoln Park is located close by.

Schools

he Pequannock Township School District serves public school students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Schools in the district include three K-5 elementary schools - Stephen J. Gerace, Hillview, and North Boulevard. Other schools in the district include Pequannock Valley Middle School (6-8) and the Pequannock Township High School (9-12).

Recreation

Greenview Park is located in Pequannock on West Parkway. Sunset Valley Golf Course, located in the Borough of Kinnelon and the Township of Pequannock, is regarded as one of the premier golf courses in New Jersey with breathtaking views in Morris County.
